Timberline sits highest on the mountain and has the longest ski season in the country, six miles up a dedicated access road from Government Camp. From Mt. Hood Village, plan on roughly 30 to 35 minutes door to lift, so leave with enough buffer to find parking and gear up.
Ski a full day, break for lunch at the historic lodge itself if you want the view along with your burger, and plan to be back at the house by mid-afternoon. This is the day to lean into the hot tub afterward — nothing resets tired legs like it after a full day on Timberline's long groomers.
Sunday: Meadows or Skibowl, your call
Split the group's preference here. Mt. Hood Meadows, about 30 to 35 minutes from Mt. Hood Village via Highway 35, is the mountain's biggest resort by terrain and the pick if your group wants more variety and longer runs. Mt. Hood Skibowl, right at Government Camp and about 20 minutes away, is the smaller, more casual option, known for night skiing if anyone wants to squeeze in a few more runs after dark before you head home.
Either way, plan a lighter final day. Ski the morning, break for an early lunch, and leave room in the afternoon to pack up and hit the road before dinner, especially if you're driving back to Portland.
