Balboa Getaway Clean, updated, great for family of 3
Marina, Beach, Fun Zone! Family and a friend went for a quick beach trip (2 14 yr olds). Had a blast. Super close access to Fun Zone, marina and local beaches. Kids loved the upstairs loft area. Small but cozy and a bit limited if you plan on preparing your own meals. Would highly recommend for short term visit’s
Great Location Very clean. Great Location. Close to everything. One Bedroom on main floor. Second bed is up a staircase with a pull out bed. Pull out was actually very comfortable. Only bathroom located in main bedroom. Great place for a couple to stay. Parking is a little tuff because of construction on across from our stay. Hard to get into carport. But no noise from construction. We were there Friday evening to Monday morning.
Great location and very clean spot! Worked perfect for a beach weekend rental and would visit again. We had a hiccup during check in and the host was extremely responsive and accommodating.
Everything was great, the only thing I’d be aware of is the construction directly across from the car port. They weren’t exceptionally loud or anything but it did make parking really difficult if they had supplies in the alley. If there’s anyone parked in the “A” unit parking was really tricky. Everything else was exactly as described and was great.

A great spot adjacent to the Balboa Fun zone. The parking space is a plus. Also sitting on the dock by the bay is awesome! The negatives are minor but need to be referenced: there was no aluminum foil or saran wrap, one roll of toilet paper for a 3 night stay and the pots didn't have lids. Would I stay again - ABSOLUTELY!
The property was clean and well appointed. It was a great location, centrally located to lots of fun activities. We had a couple of issues come up and the property manager quickly addressed them. The parking would be best with a smaller vehicle. If we’re back in the area, we would definitely consider a return stay.
What a special spot. We are former residents of the area, so had great familiarity with the location of the property. We came down for a 2 week stay, to be a part of our first grandbaby's birth.Enough about us. If you are looking for a spectacular location that has easy walking to beach and the bay this is it. Back bungalow on a bayfront home, doesn't get much better than this. High end finishes, cozy, with roof top escape. And it is easy access to all that the Balboa Peninsula provides.And Hank is an absolute delight to work with. If you are pondering between properties...pick this one, you wont be disappointed.
Loved the location as a family with little ones! Very walkable area with lots to do, including the beach. The place itself was exceptional and had everything we needed. The kitchen was modern and well equipped. Bathroom and linens well stocked - I really appreciated the extra beach towels. It was a bit cold and windier than expected so we didn't get to enjoy the rooftop patio as much as we wanted! The host takes care of the cleaning which really helps it feel like a vacation.
Loved the place! Super convenient and easy to get to. Lovely area and host is super responsive even late at night! Will stay again!

Our stay was amazing! The space was beautiful. The location was so close all the best restaurants, beaches & balboa ferry. The back patio was great and the dock on the bay was stunning! We cannot wait to come back :)
Unit was not as published. No outside sitting are as it was for other unit. Bathroom did not match pictures. Unit clean, limited kitchen ware.
Great location with covered carport parking, a nice dock to watch sailboats and seagulls from. Very short walk to the Ferry, restaurants, the bay, sandy beach, ocean and Balboa Pier. Nice updated bathroom and kitchen, but not so nice small livingroom and spiral staircase to small loft with fold-out Murphy bed (too soft and lumpy). Host is very responsive, as we learned upon arriving to find the stovetop greasy and not cleaned, carpets dirty & needing vacuuming, a wet glob of detergent in the dishwasher cup, trash in the upstairs trash can, dirt & smudges all over the small coffee table, and just a half roll of TP. I sent photos and a housecleaner showed up promptly so we waited 45 min for the unit to be cleaned, which we were not happy about considering check-in time is a late 4:00pm. Almost missed the sunset but got to the beach just in time. Would not stay here again, and would not recommend unless you simply want the location, which is amazing.

Absolutely loved this place, it was so incredibly cozy and incredibly clean. Everything about it just felt super high quality and I felt at peace.
We had a great time staying at this property. It was super clean, and we appreciated that so many items (like shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, clean sponge, dish and dishwasher soap, laundry soap ect.) were included for us to use. We were also impressed that it was such a quiet location even though it is very close to the fun zone. Thanks for a great stay!

Location, Location, Location! This home is definitely a winner if you're exploring Newport on vacation. We really enjoyed the ease to the ocean and nearby bay. Excellent quality amenities and well appointed property. Ease of communication with host was also excellent. We did find the AC, TV and fireplace remotes not as user friendly as expected. We got everything working but it has a learning curve.Of note, this unit faces the alley and there is a major home construction project underway directly across the way. Due to construction fencing, the parking for this unit was not accessible twice, once because the cleaners were in shared driveway and the second when the front unit was rented on our last night and their van was in driveway. There are two designated spots for these front and rear units but with fencing sticking out in alley, only one large car can really occupy the drive at a time. We have an SUV, so a compact car might have better luck. We had zero issue finding nearby street parking, were able to load and unload easily in the alley both times, and this is simply our experience and meant to inform rather than deter. The construction noise is fairly quiet (talking, intermittent) but starts early. They are really nice workers, literally everyone in this area was really friendly. For an off season stay like ours, it was all part of the ambiance.The waterfront bliss earns it's namesake.
