California

Arrival Getaways' California collection centers on Newport Beach, the sun-soaked harbor city on Orange County's coast. Think wide sandy beaches, the Balboa Peninsula and its historic ferry, world-class surf at the Wedge, and a walkable grid of cafés, boutiques, and seafood on the water. Our Newport Beach vacation rentals put you within a short stroll or bike ride of the sand — from breezy two-bedroom apartments a few minutes' walk to the beach to bayfront estates with rooftop hot tubs. Traveling with family or a group? Our multi-bedroom homes — including the Harbor House bayfront residences and the five-bedroom Skyline House with two rooftop decks — give everyone space to spread out, with easy access to the harbor, Balboa Island, and the ferry. Couples and smaller parties love the Blue Heron apartments, a quick walk to the sand with a garage for the car. Several homes are pet-friendly, so the whole family can come along. Newport Beach is a year-round destination, but summer is peak — warm days, calm surf, and the harbor at its liveliest — and those dates book up first. Spring and fall bring fewer crowds, lower rates, and still-gorgeous coastline, while winter is quiet and mild. If you're planning a summer trip, reserve early for the best choice of homes near the water. Just down the coast, Corona del Mar adds tide pools, bluff-top views, and one of Southern California's prettiest beaches. Browse our full collection of Newport Beach and coastal California rentals below — every one locally managed by a team that knows the harbor and the neighborhoods firsthand.

A great spot adjacent to the Balboa Fun zone. The parking space is a plus. Also sitting on the dock by the bay is awesome! The negatives are minor but need to be referenced: there was no aluminum foil or saran wrap, one roll of toilet paper for a 3 night stay and the pots didn't have lids. Would I stay again - ABSOLUTELY!

My family of 6 enjoyed our stay in Newport. The house was very walkable, just a short distance to the beach and restaurants/grocery store. It was clean and had everything we needed. There was a small park with basketball courts a block away just before the beach. Overall it was a great place to stay.

The property was clean and well appointed. It was a great location, centrally located to lots of fun activities. We had a couple of issues come up and the property manager quickly addressed them. The parking would be best with a smaller vehicle. If we’re back in the area, we would definitely consider a return stay.

Frequently asked questions

Our California homes are in Newport Beach, on the Orange County coast about 45 minutes south of Los Angeles and 20 minutes from John Wayne Airport (SNA). They're spread across the Balboa Peninsula, the harbor, and nearby neighborhoods, most within a short walk or bike ride of the beach. For the full set, see our Newport Beach collection.

For groups, our standouts are the Harbor House bayfront homes and Skyline House, a five-bedroom retreat with two rooftop decks near the beach. Both offer room to gather and easy harbor access. Smaller parties and couples do well in the Blue Heron Perch and Blue Heron Wade apartments, each a five-minute walk to the sand with a garage.

Plenty. Ride the historic Balboa Island ferry, walk or bike the peninsula boardwalk, surf or watch the bodysurfers at the Wedge, kayak the harbor, or take a short drive to Corona del Mar for tide pools and bluff-top views. Downtown you'll find seafood on the water, boutiques, and easy access to the rest of Orange County.

Summer is Newport Beach's peak season and the first to fill. For June through August, and especially the Fourth of July week, we recommend booking two to three months ahead. Spring and fall offer great weather with better availability and value, and winter is quiet and mild if you want the coast to yourself.

Yes — several welcome pets, including our Iris House village home. Policies vary by property, so check the listing or ask our team before booking with an animal. You can also browse our Pet Friendly collection to see stays that welcome animals across all our destinations.
